Tile cracks and planks creak because of what is under them, not because of what they are. Levelling and preparing the subfloor is the unglamorous half of a flooring job and the reason a floor is still tight in ten years.
We install hardwood, engineered wood, luxury vinyl plank, ceramic, porcelain and natural stone — and the transitions between them, which is the detail most jobs get wrong.
Why it is worth doing
New flooring offers several benefits
- 01It changes the whole house at once. Running one floor through the main rooms makes a house read larger and more finished than any single room ever will.
- 02Easier to live with. The right material for the room — moisture where it matters, warmth where you want it, and a surface that suits pets and children if you have them.
- 03Fixing what the old floor hid. Lifting a floor is when soft subfloor, old leaks and uneven joists come to light. Dealing with them then is far cheaper than later.
